# Adding Custom Strings

Adding large quantities of strings to Storm can cause the scanner to be slower than usual.

* Under "Custom Strings" , click the "Process" drop down and select the process your string is for.
* In "Client Name" and "String" , enter what you want the detection name to be and the string for it. 
* In the "Severity" drop down, choose if you want the detection to display as a cheat, a warning, or as a log. Click the "Set" button after completing.
